Crazy little thing called Maddie

I have found recently that when I stop concentrating on my life's discomforts it's a lot easier to see the good things in life, including how crazy our funny little Maddie is. While walking through Wal-mart today she suddenly said, "Mama, should I be a rock star? I won't be shy." I replied, "If you want to." She then very logically pointed out, "Well, you better get me some rock star clothes so I can rock and roll!" Pretty outstanding coming from a little girl with such stranger anxiety. Later this evening we were talking about the baby. Maddie, despite her preference of having a sister, has always been insistent that this baby is a boy. She leans in putting her ear to my belly and says "what baby boy?" and after a few seconds starts laughing as if the baby just said something hysterical. We asked her what she thought the name should be if it is a boy and, after thinking for a bit, said, "Conner." We're a bit unsure where she got that since we don't know anybody named Conner. We then asked what she thought the name should be if it's a girl and she said, "But it's a boy!" After a bit of coaxing she conceded and told us we should name her "Girly Girl." I personally think that's an excellent name. Girly Girl Friend. Perfect!

She looks too grown up in the picture. She'll forever be as little as our last get together.
