Ben and I took Maddie to her very first dental appointment today! I told her yesterday that we would be going and even though she's never been to a dentist she was really scared! She didn't want them to use the "sharp thing". After much coaxing she was finally convinced that they would not hurt her, and by this morning she was really excited. We walked in and she immediately ran over to the toys and played while we waited. When it was our turn they took us back and started by taking some x-rays. She complied very well and we were then led over to her chair. Luckily, the fish tank was right there so she was kept busy looking at Nemo and Dory while we waited. While they polished her teeth she got to lay down and watch "Horton Hears a Who" on the tv that was in the ceiling. She loved that! Towards the end she started getting a little antsy but she patiently let the dentist examine her. We took a look at her x-rays which was really weird because you could see her permanent teeth under her baby teeth! Her top front teeth are set to come in very crooked! They are going to come in exactly like mine did actually so she is definitely going to need braces! Poor kid. Here's hoping the next one will get Ben's perfectly straight teeth. In the end we were told she has no cavities and after collecting her prize we walked out. As we were making our way back to the front desk Maddie declared, "Mama. That wasn't so bad." Hopefully, she'll do just as well when we take her back in October! And by then we'll have a new baby in tow! =) Here's our sweet little girl showing off her pearly whites.

Music and the Dentist
Maddie has still not given up on her dreams of being a rock star. For Christmas Ben and I decided to get her a "Kidz Bopz" CD (for those who don't know, these are CDs full of popular adult songs sung by kids. Adults like them because they have songs that are currently played on the radio and kids like them because they are sung by kids. It's works out great!) I was a bit tired of listening to Disney Princess songs and the ABCs so I went and picked out a CD that had a few songs that I like. Check out this video of our little star singing Rihanna's "Don't Stop the Music".

Blake cracked up watching Maddie. He got upset when I wouldn't let him watch it for the third time in a row. Very cute. Hope she remembers us when she's a rock star!
Hahaha! That was so funny! What a doll. She knows those lyrics way better than I do! My goodness. :)
She is too cute! She kept up with the song very well. Megan and Kaitlyn actually look forward to going to the dentist, now that they know what to expect.
Oh my goodness, Maddie is adorable!! She makes one cute little Rock Star!!
Okay seriously???? What the heck. That is the funniest thing I've ever seen. You should post that on Youtube for all to see. I think Lucas just made me play it about a thousand times and I'm not even exaggerating.
